Busy Week

We've had quite the week. I double booked myself twice. We had all sorts of activities happening. We had Cub Scouts, Polynesian dance practices, a softball game, a soccer game, a Mary Kay party, visiting teaching, sewing skirts for the luau we had on Saturday at church, attending the luau, and working. And it's been 100 degrees here! We also purchased a set of living room furniture which arrived this week. We are enjoying our comfy new matching couches and chair! Now I will have to make some curtains to match. We shifted our old couch and our t.v. in to one of our extra bedrooms. It's kind of fun to have a new set up.
John got a new calling at church. He will be an Elders' Quorum President in our ward. (There are now two) This means he will be the leader of one of the men's groups. He's excited and nervous, and doing a great job so far.
There have been a couple of wild fires this week near our community. It's a little scary to see the great billows of smoke coming from just over the hill. One was started by a firework. I haven't heard about the others. It's just very hot and dry these days.
Some of our friends had their condo flood a couple weeks ago. They have stayed with us a few times since then, while their house is being repaired. We've enjoyed being able to help them a little. Plus it's fun for us to have our friends over. Overall, we are enjoying the challenges of a busy life.
